Print non-stop with the new Zebra ZE511 and ZE521

Zebra has just released new ZE511 and ZE521 print engines, which feature superior performance. Printing has no limits thanks to its speed and metal construction: you can use them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It should be noted that these print engines are very robust as they do not require cooling fans, which prevents debris from entering the print engine. Additionally, the external enclosures are resistant to water ingress and dust, an important feature for deploying these models in harsh environments.

They're smartly designed to make your job easier, but they offer much more than reliability. The 4-inch ZE511 and 6-inch ZE521 are both upgrades to the ZE500 model (which includes the ZE500-4 and ZE500-6 printers) with improvements such as the addition of a 4.3-inch color touch screen or the increase in memory (512MB of SDRAM and Flash, compared to 16MB SDRAM and 64MB of Flash memory in the ZE500 series).

ZE511 and ZE521 applications

These new models are designed for use especially in warehouses, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing. However, they can count on many applications. The essentials are shipping and receiving labels, packing slips, pallet and case labels, cross-dock labeling, bag labeling and asset labels.

Configuration and maintenance

The ZE511 and ZE521 models can be easily configured using Zebra's Print DNA software package. This program also allows you to manage, maintain and protect printers on site or remotely.

Users can take advantage of built-in analytics to predict and schedule maintenance It also allows you to check printer status immediately and quickly edit settings from its full color LCD touch screen. In it you will be able to consult an intuitive menu that speeds up operations.

These new models incorporate Zebra's RE40 module and adaptive encoding technology with new algorithms. Thanks to this, the RFID is automatically calibrated in just a few minutes. Plus, it eliminates complex placement guidelines, accurately encodes smaller labels that are close together, and adopts new embeds without checking them first.

Components are also easy to access thanks to the new interior design, which is more spacious. Printheads are replaced in seconds without the use of tools, just a tab and snap-on design without connectors. Lastly, the modular unit is changed with just three screws for offline service and non-stop work.

Connectivity

The new models offer various connectivity options. Among them, the new Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and Ethernet connections stand out, as well as a double USB port. Like the ZE500 series, it also has the option of USB 2.0 connectivity.

Print speed

This is the most important improvement of the new models. The speeds of the ZE511 are:

• 18 ips / 457 mm per second at 203 dpi.
• 14 ips / 356 mm per second at 300 dpi.
• 6 ips / 152 mm per second at 600 dpi, the new option included in this series.

ZE521 print speeds are:

• 14 ips / 356 mm per second at 203 dpi.
• 12 ips / 305 mm per second at 300 dpi.

Print resolution

Both models offer various resolutions for printing. Those of the ZE511 are:

• 203 dpi / 8 dots per mm.
• 300 dpi / 12 dots per mm (optional).
• 600 dpi / 24 dots per mm (optional), a higher resolution offered by this new series.

On the other hand, the resolutions of the ZE521 are:

• 203 dpi / 8 dots per mm.
• 300 dpi / 12 dots per mm (optional).

Print width

The maximum print width of the ZE511 printer is 104 mm (4.09 inches), while that of the ZE521 is 168 mm (6.6 inches).
